Come out for Pumpkins, Potions &amp; Prayers! Kids can try their hand at magic potion brewing while the rest of us dive into our annual pumpkin carving contest. We will also pause to share a time of prayer and enjoy a wonderful BBQ lunch together.
• What to bring: Your own pumpkin, carving tools, and a side dish or dessert to pass around.
• The Stakes: Bring your A-game! We are handing out prizes for the most creative and spine-chilling pumpkins.

Looking for engaging, welcoming things to do on weeknights in McLean? Escape the grind with comedy!&nbsp;Welcome to Sillygander: Watch &amp; Learn Improv, a limited-run interactive experience produced by Resonance Improv Alliance.
 Sillygander breaks down the invisible wall between the audience and the stage. This event is divided into two distinct parts:
<ul><li>Part 1: The Intro Workshop (5:30 PM): If you’ve ever wanted to try improv in Northern Virginia, this is your supportive launchpad. Led by experienced, welcoming instructors from the Resonance network, this 40-minute session is designed entirely for absolute beginners and the improv-curious. Through collaborative group games and foundational exercises, you’ll explore the core tenets of applied improv: active listening, spontaneous agreement ("Yes, And"), and building trust with scene partners. It’s a playground for your weary mind.</li><li>Part 2: The Jam (6:10 PM): Once the workshop wraps, the lights stay up for a live performance. Local indie ensembles, veteran community players, and brave workshop graduates take the stage to spin audience suggestions into spontaneous comedy sets. Because it’s created entirely on the fly by your neighbors, it is an incredibly supportive and collaborative live comedy show. It's a space where DMV audiences can experience the pure joy of watching people say "Yes, And" to each other in real time. Expect a night that is warm, completely unpredictable, and above all, really fun.</li></ul>

RESTON, VA — Ideaventions Academy for Mathematics and Science will host an Open House on Saturday, February 21, from 10:00am–Noon for families interested in learning more about the school’s 1st–12th grade program.
Located in Reston, Ideaventions Academy is an award-winning independent school serving gifted and academically advanced students, grades 1-12. The school's small classes bring joy, academic challenging academics and a whole-child approach designed to help students grow as curious, capable, and independent learners.
During the Open House, prospective families will have the opportunity to:
