Bechtel Plans About 200 Job Cuts At Reston Office After TerraPower Agreement Falls Through (patch.com) — About 200 jobs are at risk at Bechtel's Reston office on Democracy Drive after the company and TerraPower parted ways on the next phase of the Natrium nuclear project. Layoffs could begin in mid-November, though Bechtel says it is trying to place affected Reston workers in other assignments before any cuts become permanent.

4. Man Who Stabbed Dog 14 Times Said It 'Needed To Be Put Down': MD Authorities (patch.com) — A Reston man has been charged with felony aggravated animal cruelty after Frederick County, Maryland deputies say they found him covered in blood near a dog that had been stabbed multiple times. Authorities allege he admitted to stabbing the animal, claiming he needed to put it down. Investigators are seeking additional information from anyone who may have seen the incident.
