Dulles Airport Board Approves $19.9B Construction Program For Major Renovation (patch.com) — A sweeping $19.9 billion, 15-year construction program will dramatically reshape Washington Dulles International Airport, the main long-haul hub for many Reston travelers. Plans include major terminal renovations, new concourses, Aerotrain extensions and utility upgrades, funded largely by bonds, while airport leaders stress there will be no new line-item ticket surcharge for passengers.

Created by co-owner and architect Melissa Romano, the shop activates a vacant Lake Anne Plaza storefront while the brewery awaits permits for a taproom expansion, highlighting Reston's 1960s modernist roots.
   

4. Reston Contractor Plans 69 Layoffs After Wireless Contract Work Ends (patch.com) — A Reston-based tech contractor, TekSynap, has notified Virginia officials it may cut up to 69 positions in three phases as a major wireless subcontract winds down, though most affected staff work remotely nationwide. The company, headquartered in Reston and planning a larger Reston Town Center office, is exploring reassignment options that could reduce the number of layoffs.
   

5. More oppose residential property on golf course (fairfaxtimes.com) — A proposal to build 306 townhomes on part of Reston National Golf Course has galvanized Reston groups who argue it violates the Reston Master Plan, PRC zoning, and Robert E. Simon's open-space vision. Rescue Reston, Reston Citizens Association, and Reston Association are urging county leaders to reject the plan, citing environmental impacts, precedent for future development, and threats to Reston's character.
