• E-bikes can hit 50 mph. Officials say they don't belong on the W&OD Trail (wtop.com) — Police and NOVA Parks are actively educating W&OD Trail users in Reston about which e-bikes are allowed and how to share the path safely, after concerns about high-speed models. Officers recently handed out safety armbands locally, and additional educational sessions are planned with nearby Herndon and Vienna police to reinforce trail etiquette and state law on electric mobility devices.
   

• Fairfax County board considers tightening rules for contributions to local nonprofits (ffxnow.com) — Fairfax County supervisors are rethinking how they award millions in annual grants to nonprofits, a move that could affect groups like the Greater Reston Incubator. Officials want clearer performance measures and may narrow the list of recipients, aiming to ensure Reston-area taxpayers see concrete value from county-funded arts, business, and social service organizations.
   

• Travel Execs Take 100 Million Visitor Target to White House (skift.com) — Management of the JW Marriott Reston Station, Virginia's first JW Marriott and a key part of the Reston Station development, will shift to Davidson Hospitality Group on October 1. The 248-room hotel, with over 40,000 square feet of event space and branded condos above, anchors a 28‑story tower that's becoming a major local destination.
