• Reston Hospital Grant To Support Maternal Health, Blood Pressure Programs (patch.com) — Reston residents can expect expanded maternal health resources and new blood pressure monitoring options thanks to a $25,000 grant supporting programs at Reston Hospital Center and across Northern Virginia. The funding will provide educational kits for new parents and a self-service blood pressure station, complementing the hospital's growing cardiovascular services, including its recently launched open-heart surgery program.
   

• Report: Close calls with drivers on Fairfax roads are recurring issues, not isolated (ffxnow.com) — Fairfax County's latest near-miss report highlights Reston Parkway and Lake Newport Road by Armstrong Elementary as recurring danger spots where drivers frequently speed and fail to yield, especially around children. The advocacy group urges fixes like better crosswalk signals, traffic calming, and expanded speed-camera enforcement, while county leaders move to restore some crossing guards and invest in safer walking and biking routes.
   

• JUST IN: Man charged with bomb threat against Dulles-area mosque (ffxnow.com) — A Spotsylvania man has been charged after authorities say he posted an online bomb threat targeting the ADAMS Center, a major mosque complex just west of the Fairfax-Loudoun line that includes a branch in Reston. Investigators from multiple counties traced the Instagram comment, executed search warrants, and arrested the suspect, while ADAMS, founded by Reston and Herndon families, continues serving more than 35,000 members regionwide.
