The school is even providing all students' supplies, easing back‑to‑school costs while staff launch new traditions like a house system and Phoenix mascot. 
• News Links: ICE Detainer Filed in Great Falls Killing; Data Center Taxes and Rural Land Under Review (potomaclocal.com) — Prince William County's school-based food pantry program is expanding to 21 schools, including Woodbridge Elementary, Lake Ridge, Potomac, Rippon and other nearby campuses, for the 2026–27 year. The effort, which already served thousands in its pilot, aims to quietly provide groceries to local students and families while broader county debates continue over data centers and rural land use.
• Virginia man charged with impersonating a police officer at a police station (wtop.com) — Police say a Manassas man was arrested after allegedly claiming to be an officer while trying to enter the secure lot at Prince William police's central station on Davis Ford Road in Woodbridge. He was later charged with trespassing and impersonating an officer, the second such reported case in Woodbridge this summer.
