PWC Man Dies After Being Struck Twice Crossing Major Road

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, VA – A 44-year-old man was killed on Saturday night when he was hit by two cars as he tried to cross a road in Dumfries, according to the Prince William County police department.

According to police, officers responded to Dumfries Road and Fraley Boulevard at 11:44 p.m. Saturday after reports of a crash. They say Emanuel de Jesus Burgos Mejia, of Triangle, was crossing Fraley Boulevard when he was hit by a 2017 Lexus RX350 traveling southbound and then hit by a 2016 BMW M4 traveling in the same direction. Police say Burgos Mejia was not in a crosswalk and was not wearing reflective clothing when he was struck.

Burgos Mejia was pronounced dead at the scene. Prince William County police say the drivers of both vehicles remained on the scene.

Fraley Boulevard has multiple lanes in both directions and has a posted speed limit of 35 mph in the area.

Crash investigators are asking anyone who might have witnessed the crash to contact the Prince William County Police Department.
