Bellevue Workshop to Bring AI Education and Cultural Exchange Across Generations

A first-of-its-kind community workshop is coming to Bellevue this May, bringing together families, elders, youth, and small businesses from diverse cultural backgrounds to explore the role of artificial intelligence in everyday life.

AI Across Generations & Cultures workshop will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2026, from 1:00 to 5:30 p.m. at Jing Mei Elementary School, located at 12300 Main St, Bellevue, WA 98005. The event is free and open to all skill levels — no prior technology experience is required.

WHAT MAKES THIS EVENT DIFFERENT

Unlike traditional technology workshops, AI Across Generations & Cultures is built around a two-way learning model. Young people will guide elders through beginner-friendly AI tools and mobile applications, while elders will share career wisdom, cultural heritage, and life experience that technology cannot replicate.

Organizers describe it as a space where cultural differences are not just tolerated — they are recognized, valued, and celebrated.

WHAT ATTENDEES CAN EXPECT

The afternoon will feature four main experiences:

— AI Efficiency Workshops: Practical, hands-on sessions on how to use AI tools for personal, professional, and small business purposes.

— Cultural Open Mic: A platform for storytelling, music, and artistic expression from community members and cultural partners.

— Cross-Cultural Networking: Structured opportunities to connect with entrepreneurs, families, and organizations across cultures and generations.

— Inclusive Opportunity Sessions: Conversations about how information technology can open new economic, professional, and creative doors for underrepresented communities.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

The event welcomes families across all generations, small business owners, community-based organizations, elders curious about technology, youth with tech skills to share, and allies who believe in inclusive innovation. Organizers emphasize that everyone is welcome, regardless of technical background or experience.
