Bellevue Weighs New Car Tab Fee and Sales Tax Increase in $2.3 Billion Budget Proposal (downtownbellevue.com) — Bellevue officials are considering a 0.1% sales tax hike and a new $20 annual car tab fee that could cost the average household about $57 more each year to fund transportation projects. These options are part of a $2.3 billion proposed 2027–28 budget that also supports parks, safety, housing, KidsQuest, and the Grand Connection Crossing, with hearings and a community info session still ahead.
   

2. Verizon, T-Mobile kick the tires on 4 GHz (fierce-network.com) — T-Mobile is planning two years of 4 GHz spectrum tests at and around its Bellevue headquarters, installing temporary base stations and experimental devices to explore future 6G-style capabilities. For Bellevue residents, it means cutting-edge wireless research happening locally as national regulators and carriers debate how to open this band for commercial use.
   

3. WSDOT has a number of late night closures around the region this week (kiro7.com) — Drivers in Bellevue should prepare for several overnight I-90 lane and ramp closures near the I-405 interchange, plus full and partial nighttime closures on SE 36th Street and lane reductions on SE Eastgate Way for ongoing construction. These projects, part of a long-term fish passage and safety effort, will bring detours and delays through at least Thursday night, so plan alternate routes if you commute late or early.
   

4. Contractor disagreement hits Bellevue company's signature fission power project (everettpost.com) — Bellevue-based TerraPower is facing a major shakeup after contractor Bechtel exited its flagship Natrium nuclear project in Wyoming, potentially affecting timelines and hundreds of jobs. While construction continues with a transition plan, the company is rebidding the contract and highlighting its broader work, including medical isotope development tied to its Everett facility.
