• Edmonds School Board navigates drone policy, state funding gaps and guidelines at Sept. 8 meeting (myedmondsnews.com) — Edmonds School Board members are weighing a new drone policy for district property and grappling with a $52 million state funding shortfall that's squeezing special education, supplies, and substitute staffing. At their Sept. 8 meeting, they also approved a water easement for Oak Heights Elementary and debated statewide policy stances on AI, bullying, and public funding for private schools.
   

• Marina breakwater cleaning at Port of Edmonds Sept. 21 (myedmondsnews.com) — Port of Edmonds will use its Marine 16 fire-rescue boat the week of Sept. 21 to wash bird droppings off the marina breakwater, reducing odors along the Edmonds waterfront. South County Fire will treat the work as a training exercise, and boaters are urged to navigate cautiously and give the vessel plenty of no‑wake space.
   

• Edmonds Rider Killed in Yucca Valley Crash on SR-247 (pacificattorneygroup.com) — A 69-year-old motorcyclist from Edmonds died after a Sept. 10 collision between a motorcycle and a car at State Route 247 and Winters Road in Yucca Valley, California. Authorities say the rider was taken to a hospital and later pronounced dead, and the California Highway Patrol continues to investigate how the crash occurred.
