• School officials can't figure out how their building became a bat haven with eight found in just over two weeks (the-independent.com) — Families in Puyallup should know Edgerton Elementary has found eight bats inside the school over 17 days, prompting health consultations and weekend exclusion work to seal entry points. Officials report no confirmed human contact in the latest case, but one earlier staff exposure led to medical follow-up. The district urges students and parents to avoid touching bats and contact health providers if any physical contact occurs.
