One-year-old dies with fentanyl in system after DCYF left children in parents' care under safety plan (kvi.com) — A Seattle one-year-old died with fentanyl in his system after state child-welfare officials kept him and his sister in their parents' care under a safety plan, despite recent failed drug tests. Seattle police, King County prosecutors, and state lawmakers are now under renewed scrutiny as critics argue Washington's child-protection laws make it too hard to remove kids from homes where fentanyl is present.
