📰 News we're reading

• Shoreline Police test drones to help with 911 responses (shorelineareanews.com) — Shoreline residents may soon see police drones responding to 911 calls as the King County Sheriff's Office and Shoreline Police test a Drones as First Responders program through Sept. 28. The drones arrive ahead of officers to assess situations, sometimes clearing calls without sending patrol cars, and officials emphasize they lack license plate readers and aren't used for continuous surveillance.

• IEUM Korean School Officially Opens Its Doors: "A First Step Toward a Premier Educational Community Connected as One" (shorelineareanews.com) — Families in Shoreline now have a new option for Korean language and cultural education with the opening of IEUM Korean School at Hillwood Church on Firlands Way N. Staffed by highly educated teachers from South Korea, the school launched September 11–12 with about 40 students enrolled in Friday, Saturday, adult, and online classes, aiming to build a close-knit, supportive learning community.

• Prep volleyball: Terrace earns first league win behind defense (heraldnet.com) — A home volleyball sweep by King's over Mariner brought a strong win right in Shoreline, with the Knights taking all three sets behind 18 assists from Sophie Ciuca. The roundup also highlights other Wesco and non-league matches, giving Shoreline fans a quick look at how nearby rivals and regional teams fared on the same night.
