Spokane Police Department officer returned a stolen bike to an 8-year-old fire victim (929zzu.com) — An 8-year-old Spokane boy who lost his home in recent local fires got his stolen bike back thanks to quick work by Spokane Police. After security video identified the theft at River Park Square, officers circulated photos and located the bike the next day near State and Pacific, reuniting it with the child while the suspect remains at large. 
2. Butte family collects 7.5 tons of donations for Spokane fire victims (fairfieldsuntimes.com) — Spokane fire victims are getting a major boost from a Butte, Montana family that gathered about 7.5 tons of donated supplies after seeing the devastation here. While only one trailer could be sent directly to Spokane, remaining items are being redirected to other fire-affected communities and local charities, and residents are encouraged to use KHQ's Spokane Wildfire Recovery page to give.
3. Companies donate nearly $70,000 in aid to Spokane fire victims (929zzu.com) — Spokane fire survivors are getting a boost from companies nationwide that helped fill a shipping container with nearly $70,000 in donated essentials. Local volunteers and Image Source staff organized blankets, chargers, clothing, and school supplies. The items are being distributed through Spokane-focused nonprofits like Teen Closet, Partners Inland Northwest, and the Carl Maxey Center to reach families hit hardest by the fires.
4. 'He literally saved my life': Dog warns owner of wildfire after COVID leaves her unable to smell smoke (thecooldown.com) — Spokane residents are still recovering from the Old Trails Fire, including a woman whose German Shepherd, Shadow, alerted her in time to escape despite her COVID-related loss of smell.
