• Suspect in custody after police pursuit (wvva.com) — Athens residents may want to know their police chief helped stop a stolen vehicle Thursday morning after spotting it on Rt. 460 and following it into Bluefield. Mercer County deputies then arrested the suspect without incident near Cumberland Road, and the vehicle was safely returned to its owner with assistance from Athens and Bluefield police and Mercer County 911.
