Fourth annual Girls in Aviation Day to be held in West Virginia (wvnstv.com) — Families in Charleston can bring girls to a free Girls in Aviation Day today, Sept. 19, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Marshall University's Bill Noe Flight School at Yeager Airport. Hosted by Marshall's Women in Aviation chapter, the event offers hands-on activities, demonstrations, and conversations with aviation professionals to spark interest in aerospace careers—no registration required.

Charleston man accused of striking pedestrians while driving under the influence (wchstv.com) — Charleston readers should know that a 78-year-old local man is charged with DUI causing injury after a woman and her 12-year-old daughter were struck on Pennsylvania Avenue. Police say he admitted drinking earlier, showed signs of intoxication, and registered a 0.141% blood alcohol level before being identified through contact information he allegedly provided at the scene.
   

3. 41 people celebrate becoming US citizens in Charleston (wowktv.com) — Newly minted U.S. citizens gathered in downtown Charleston for a naturalization ceremony at the Robert C. Byrd Center, marking the end of long immigration journeys for 41 residents. 4. Olcott waterline project clears final hurdle, heads to bid after decade of delays (wsaz.com) — Families in rural Kanawha County are finally close to getting reliable public water, as the $11.4 million Olcott Waterline Extension Project has cleared its last regulatory hurdle and heads to bid in October. The James Rumsey, built in Charleston, outmuscled the larger sternwheeler D.T.
