• Bridge Day organizers expect between 60,000 to 120,000 visitors (woay.com) — Bridge Day is returning to the New River Gorge Bridge on Saturday, Oct. 17, bringing an expected 60,000 to 120,000 visitors through Fayetteville and nearby shuttle lots. With U.S. Route 19 closing across the bridge most of the day, organizers say they’re ahead of schedule coordinating vendors, BASE jumpers, volunteers, and transportation plans that will shape how locals get around.
   

• Pennsylvania man sentenced in connection with drug conspiracy and possession crimes in Fayette County (woay.com) — In Fayetteville, a Pennsylvania man has been sentenced to 10 years plus an additional 1 to 15 years for drug conspiracy and cocaine possession with intent to deliver in Fayette County. After a traffic stop uncovered nearly a kilogram of cocaine and large amounts of cash, jurors convicted him in August, and he must serve at least 3.5 years before parole eligibility.
