1. Parkersburg marks 25 years since 9/11 with remembrance ceremony (wtap.com) — Parkersburg High School hosted a 25th-anniversary 9/11 remembrance ceremony, drawing students, staff, first responders and local leaders to honor victims with music, speeches and a moment of silence. Gov. Patrick Morrisey, Mayor Tom Joyce and the sister of Parkersburg native Mary Lou Hague urged students to connect the attacks' history to their own lives and community.
   

2. Houston City College selected for 'National Workforce Futures Accelerator' (katytimes.com) — West Virginia University Parkersburg has been chosen as one of just 15 community colleges nationwide for the new Workforce Futures Accelerator, backed by ACCT and Google.org. The three-year program will add virtual, employer-sponsored projects to coursework, aiming to give Parkersburg-area students stronger real-world experience and connections to high-demand careers without leaving the community.
   

3. Parkersburg Police chief recalls Sept. 11 as a high school senior (newsandsentinel.com) — Parkersburg's police chief, Matthew Board, reflects on experiencing 9/11 as a Parkersburg South High School senior and how it shaped his view of law enforcement. He explains how Parkersburg's police now train for terrorism and active-shooter threats, emphasizing preparedness, coordination and the resilience he believes united the country after the attacks.
   

4. 2026 Football Frenzy Week Four Recap (wtap.com) — Parkersburg High finally grabbed its first football win of the season in a tight 21–20 victory over Hurricane, while Parkersburg South fell on the road at Beckley.
