1. 17 Wisconsinites Sickened In E. Coli, Salmonella Outbreak (patch.com) — Madison-based state health officials are warning residents about a multistate E. coli and Salmonella outbreak tied to alfalfa sprouts sold under the Calco and Everything Sprouts brands. Seventeen Wisconsinites are sick, one hospitalized, and DHS urges people to discard these sprouts, monitor for gastrointestinal symptoms, and contact a health care provider if illness becomes severe.

2. Two people arrested Friday night at State Capitol protest (nbc15.com) — Madison residents should know that two people were arrested Friday evening during a protest at the State Capitol over the police shooting of Corey Ruiz, with Madison Police confirming the arrests but not the names or charges. 3. Data shows UW-Madison admission rate by county, high school (jsonline.com) — UW–Madison has released a detailed admissions dashboard showing how many students from each Wisconsin public high school apply, are admitted and enroll at the Madison campus. Madison West, Vel Phillips Memorial and Middleton High rank among the top feeders, giving local families a clearer picture of how area schools fare in sending graduates to the state's flagship university.

4. Mind the gap (ibmadison.com) — Newly built homes in Madison now cost about $85,000 more than existing houses, raising questions about who can afford to buy here as the region grows. A national report and local realtor offer contrasting takes on whether this price gap hurts lower-income buyers or simply reflects a healthy mix of new and older housing stock.
