New Berlin council to discuss petition about mayor (gmtoday.com) — New Berlin's Common Council will hold a special meeting Tuesday, Sept. 29, at 6 p.m. at City Hall to discuss legal strategy around a petition seeking Mayor David Ament's removal. The petition centers on the Milwaukee Rescue Mission's proposed New Journey addiction recovery facility near I-43 and Moorland Road and alleges open meetings and misconduct violations. The council will only discuss legal process, not the petition's merits, at this session.
   

2. New Berlin man arrested after hit-and-run crash injures 2 pedestrians (cbs58.com) — A 35-year-old New Berlin resident was arrested after allegedly hitting two Milwaukee men with a vehicle in a West Lincoln Avenue business parking lot and fleeing the scene. New Berlin police quickly located the car, and the Waukesha County DA will review a hit-and-run causing injury charge. Both workers suffered non-life-threatening injuries, and the investigation continues.
   

3. Cary-Grove vs New Berlin Eisenhower (maxpreps.com) — New Berlin Eisenhower's volleyball team, representing New Berlin dropped a tight 2–1 non-league match on the road against Cary-Grove in Illinois. The loss moves the Lions to 16–13 as they prepare to face Edgerton next. Local fans can watch how the team responds against another strong Wisconsin opponent.
   

4. Waukesha County's lowest E15 gas price recorded at $3.49 for week ending Sept. 19 (waukeshatimes.com) — Drivers in New Berlin are part of a countywide snapshot showing E15 gas as low as $3.49 per gallon at several Waukesha County stations for the week ending Sept. 19. The county's average E15 price was $4.10, slightly below the statewide average. Prices can change quickly, but this gives you a recent benchmark for filling up locally.
