Community theater receives $750K ARC grant for building renovation (cullmantimes.com) — Cullman has secured a $750,000 Appalachian Regional Commission grant, matched locally for a $1.5 million project to turn the former First United Pentecostal Church downtown into a 200-seat Community Theater Center. City leaders say the venue will anchor local arts groups, boost already surging tourism, and support dozens of nearby downtown businesses with year-round performances and events.

Cullman County Schools invest nearly $6 million to expand capacity (abc3340.com) — Cullman County Schools are spending nearly $6 million on new classroom additions at the Child Development Center and Hanceville Middle School to ease overcrowding and replace aging buildings. PREP SOCCER: Meharg scores twice as Cullman seals area with 3-0 win over Mortimer Jordan (cullmantribune.com) — Cullman High’s boys soccer team clinched the area title at home with a 3-0 win over Mortimer Jordan, highlighted by two goals from Grayson Meharg. Coming off the girls’ 8-0 rout, the Bearcats controlled the match and now turn their focus to next week’s first-round state playoff matchup.

Three Alabama high school students honored as APT's 2026 Young Heroes (aldailynews.com) — A Cullman High School student is among three Alabama teens honored as Alabama Public Television’s 2026 Young Heroes, each receiving a $10,000 scholarship and other prizes.
