Clifford Hellmers is Celebrated for 50 Years of Service (otmj.com) — A longtime pastor at The Lutheran Church of Vestavia Hills has been honored for 50 years of service, including 32 years leading the congregation and 18 years in active retirement. Rev. Clifford Hellmers founded Project HOPE, which sends volunteers and funds from Vestavia Hills to support health care, education, housing, and clean water projects in Kenya, Nicaragua, and Uganda.
