• Vestavia Hills school board to consider design contract for school kitchen renovation (vestaviavoice.com) — Vestavia Hills school leaders are set to vote Monday on hiring Davis Architects to design an $850,000 kitchen renovation at Vestavia Hills Elementary Dolly Ridge, with work planned for summer 2027. The board will also weigh change orders for the new high school baseball facility and Elementary East renovations, plus hear updates on other high school capital projects at a 4 p.m. meeting on Montgomery Highway.
   

• Local health experts to go door to door and survey Birmingham area (wvtm13.com) — Jefferson County health workers will be knocking on doors in Vestavia Hills and nearby unincorporated areas September 30–October 1 to ask adults about local health needs and services. Staff will wear JCDH shirts and photo IDs, and the voluntary 25–30 minute survey will help shape future programs and improvements in care for area residents.
