Recorded between August 18 and 24, these licenses highlight how many local residents are heading to the courthouse to make things official in the coming weeks. 
• Arkansas National Guard soldiers return home after D.C. deployment (swtimes.com) — Dozens of Arkansas National Guard soldiers just returned to Ebbing Air National Guard Base in Fort Smith after a public safety deployment in Washington, D.C. Military leaders praised their professionalism and specifically thanked Fort Smith residents, families, and employers for backing the 142nd Field Artillery Brigade throughout the mission before troops headed back to communities across Northwest Arkansas and the River Valley.
• Vehicle crashes into Fort Smith stage before band performance (nwahomepage.com) — A vehicle crashed into the outdoor stage at La Huerta Grill on Garrison Avenue in Fort Smith just before the James Strong Band was set to play, but no injuries were reported. Musician Damon Shores says the impact destroyed part of the brick stage and a power pole, even dropping lines onto his parked SUV, yet the restaurant has already cleaned up and reopened.
