Supporters say the move would cut costs while still overseeing parks, recreation programs, and the city's Human Services Grants Program that funds local nonprofits serving vulnerable residents.
   

• Fire near BART Coliseum station causes major delay (mercurynews.com) — BART riders traveling to or from Dublin/Pleasanton faced major delays after a fire and power outage near Coliseum station disrupted Berryessa Line service Saturday evening. Trains were stopped between Fruitvale and Bay Fair, and BART directed Dublin passengers to use AC Transit's Route 28 and other buses while crews responded and worked to restore service.
   

• Director Sanwong faces challenge from committee chair Henry for East Bay Parks Ward 5 (pleasantonweekly.com) — East Bay Regional Park District's Ward 5 race will help shape how parks serving Dublin and nearby Tri‑Valley communities are managed, funded, and protected. Incumbent Olivia Sanwong faces challenger Bruce Henry, with both emphasizing wildfire resilience, safe trail access, and how tax dollars are spent on local open space and Lake Del Valle.
