• Los Alamitos Unified students build connections during Start With Hello Week (ocde.us) — Students across Los Alamitos Unified, including Los Alamitos High School, spent Start With Hello Week greeting classmates with signs, smiles and conversations to make everyone feel they belong on campus. Led by wellness counselors and student leaders, the district is expanding this national Sandy Hook Promise initiative to happen more often, reinforcing its focus on kindness, inclusion and meaningful connections for every local student.
   

• Lowest premium gas price in Orange County available at $5.65 per gallon in week ending Sept. 19 (southoctimes.com) — Los Alamitos drivers are paying among the higher premium gas prices in Orange County, with recent reports showing local stations charging well above the county's $5.65-per-gallon low. A new GasBuddy roundup compares prices across dozens of nearby cities, while also explaining how global oil markets and refinery outages have pushed California's fuel costs sharply higher this year.
   

• Local Event: Storytellers Tea with Paul Williams (patch.com) — Residents can hear legendary songwriter Paul Williams share stories and songs during a Storytellers Tea at Cottonwood Church on Katella Avenue in Los Alamitos on October 10. The afternoon fundraiser, featuring tea, hors d'oeuvres and a silent auction, supports Christian Outreach in Action's programs for neighbors in need across Long Beach and surrounding communities.
