• Contra Costa County Superior Court Announces Presiding Judge and Assistant Presiding Judge for 2027-2028 (contracosta.news) — From the courthouse in Martinez, Contra Costa Superior Court has named Judge Joni T. Hiramoto as its next Presiding Judge and Judge Benjamin T. Reyes II as Assistant Presiding Judge for 2027–2028. Their leadership will guide judicial assignments, budgeting and policy for the county court system that serves Martinez residents and the wider community.
   

• Concord Detective Receives 2026 Blue Knight Award (patch.com) — A regional Catholic fraternal group has honored first responders from Martinez, Concord, Clayton and other Contra Costa agencies, highlighting their service across local communities. This year's top Blue Knight Award went to Concord Detective Michael Kinnison for his work on homelessness, mental health, retail theft and nuisance properties, along with his broader community involvement and leadership roles in the department.
