Registration Opens For Murrieta's 24th Annual Veterans Day Parade (patch.com) — Murrieta residents are invited to register now for the city's 24th annual Veterans Day Parade, honoring local military service members. The Nov. 11 parade will travel from Washington Avenue and Ivy Street to Town Square Park, with community groups, schools, businesses, and veterans organizations encouraged to participate for a $25 entry fee.
   

2. 73-Year-Old Nabil Alsalek Fatally Struck by Car While Jogging in Murrieta (pacificattorneygroup.com) — A 73-year-old Murrieta resident was fatally struck while jogging on Whitewood Road Sunday morning near Meadowlark Lane, in dense fog that police say did not involve drugs or alcohol. He later died at Inland Valley Medical Center in Wildomar, and Murrieta police are still investigating the circumstances of the crash, urging residents to be cautious in low-visibility conditions.
   

3. Boy, 13, Struck And Killed by Fleeing Burglary Suspect In Southwest Riverside County (patch.com) — A 13-year-old boy was killed in Menifee when a fleeing burglary suspect allegedly ran a red light and hit him as he rode his electric bike, and the accused driver now faces homicide and other felony charges with a court appearance set at the Murrieta Southwest Justice Center. Menifee schools and families are grieving, with counseling and a fundraiser supporting the boy's relatives.
   

4. Jury Selection Set For Trial Of DUI Offender Accused Of Causing Fatal CV Crash (patch.com) — Jury selection is beginning at the Southwest Justice Center in Murrieta for the trial of a Coachella man accused of driving under the influence in a 2023 crash that killed one brother and seriously injured another. Local residents should know this high-profile DUI murder case is now being heard in their community courthouse, with detailed allegations of prior DUI history and intoxication.
