• Local Governments Urge Newsom to Veto Pension Bill (californiacitynews.org) — Napa's mayor is warning that a proposed state pension bill could strain the city's ability to pay police, firefighters, and other employees without blowing the budget. The measure, now on Gov. Newsom's desk, would boost retirement benefits and costs for public safety workers statewide, and local governments are lobbying hard for a veto to avoid long-term financial pressure.
   

• Measure G generates $24.8 million in Napa, beating budget projection (napavalleyregister.com) — Napa's Measure G sales tax is outperforming expectations, generating $24.8 million in its first full year and funding major local projects from street repaving to park upgrades and community center renovations. Residents can expect continued work on Trancas Street, California Boulevard, Soscol Avenue, and several neighborhood parks, plus a revamped Las Flores Community Center, as the city resets its budget baseline upward.
