OCEANSIDE, CA — A fire destroyed a building on the property of an Oceanside church, officials said.
The building at Community Lutheran Church was fully engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived around 5:14 p.m. Monday, according to the Oceanside Fire Department.
The stand-alone building was not part of the church at 4507 Mission Ave. and was used as a residential unit and for storage, according to the department. It was unoccupied when the fire started.

Firefighters used hose lines from multiple engines and an elevated stream from a ladder truck to battle the blaze, extinguishing it in about 40 minutes, fire officials said.
No civilians or firefighters were injured.

The cause of the fire remained under investigation.
