District leaders say her deep experience in local schools and community ties position her to guide the east side campus, which began classes Aug. 12, while continuing efforts to support students and teachers across Petaluma.

2. Petaluma's Floathouse, parked for 2 years across the Turning Basin, returns home (pressdemocrat.com) — Petaluma's beloved Floathouse boat rental center is back in its original Turning Basin spot and is once again renting kayaks, canoes, paddle boards and more. After two years docked across the basin during city dock reconstruction, volunteers carefully moved the floating platform home, and it's now open Fridays through Sundays with posted daytime hours for river fun.

3. Cal North Announces New Partnership with SogilityGO (calnorth.org) — Petaluma will host the Cal North District 5 Cup on November 7, 2026, bringing recreational youth soccer teams and a new training partner, SogilityGO, to town.
