Pleasanton Hosting Mid-Autumn Moon Festival (patch.com) — Pleasanton residents can celebrate the Mid-Autumn Moon Festival on Saturday at Pacific Pearl, with free family activities near the 85°C Bakery Cafe on Stoneridge Drive. The event features a lion dance, martial arts demonstration, face painting, and balloon art, while also highlighting similar celebrations in San Francisco and Oakland.
   

2. Oracle is cutting hundreds more Bay Area jobs. Here's where (sfchronicle.com) — Oracle plans to cut 63 jobs in Pleasanton as part of 441 Bay Area layoffs taking effect November 13, a move that could impact local tech workers and their families. The company, once headquartered in Redwood Shores and now based in Texas, is shrinking its workforce while expanding its cloud business, leaving Pleasanton employees facing sudden organizational changes.
   

3. Danville patisserie set to open second location in downtown Pleasanton (pleasantonweekly.com) — A popular Danville French bakery, Maison Benoit, is moving into the former Bank of America building on Main Street, bringing pastries, breads, and possibly wine to downtown Pleasanton as early as early 2027. Owner Benoit Vialle aims to make the larger Pleasanton shop a community hub, with open kitchen views, local hiring for first jobs, and new menu items like crepes.
   

4. 105 years of service: Couple retire with enduring legacy in rural volunteer firefighting in Morgan Territory (pleasantonweekly.com) — Longtime Morgan Territory volunteer firefighters Roger and Suzanne Lake are retiring after more than 50 years of service protecting rural areas that include communities north of Pleasanton. Their work with Station 37 helped shape modern fire and medical response across the Tri-Valley, inspiring new generations of volunteers and strengthening emergency coverage for residents in and around Pleasanton, Livermore and Dublin.
