Their Shakespeare-themed pizzeria has earned multiple honors, including national recognition on Yelp, while their daughter Zoe was recently named Young Pizza Maker of the Year, underscoring the family's pizza-making success.
   

2. Pleasanton announces 2026-27 Cultural Celebration Series (pleasantonweekly.com) — Pleasanton is rolling out a free 2026-27 Cultural Celebration Series with Diwali, Día de Los Muertos, Native American Heritage Month, Lunar New Year, Black History Month, and AAPI Heritage Month events at local venues. Residents can simply show up—no registration needed—or even volunteer to help, with the city emphasizing inclusivity and community partnerships throughout the year.
   

3. Pleasanton school board names Diolazo as next permanent superintendent (pleasantonweekly.com) — Pleasanton Unified's board has unanimously promoted Deputy Superintendent Ed Diolazo to become the district's next superintendent starting January 1, 2027, with a contract through June 2030. He'll work alongside outgoing superintendent Maurice Ghysels through December to ensure a smooth transition, with trustees emphasizing Diolazo's deep knowledge of Pleasanton schools and community priorities.
   

4. One Person Suffers Major Injuries in Pleasanton Collision Near Bernal Avenue (pacificattorneygroup.com) — A serious crash on southbound I-680 just south of the Bernal Avenue on-ramp in Pleasanton injured three people Thursday night, one seriously. A semi-truck delivering construction equipment and a Toyota Corolla were involved, blocking a lane and triggering a SigAlert until all lanes reopened around 9:30 p.m. while CHP continues investigating the cause.
