• Ramona egg ranch makes difficult choice in salmonella outbreak (sandiegouniontribune.com) — A Ramona egg ranch, Happy Hens, is linked by county health officials to a salmonella outbreak with 23 cases, and is disputing claims it's resisting a voluntary recall while already withholding eggs from two affected properties. The farm faces a costly testing regimen or the potential loss of about 10,000 hens, a decision with big implications for local shoppers and the business's future.
