Man Sought After Employee Grabbed At Rancho Santa Fe Hotel

RANCHO SANTA FE, CA — Authorities were searching for a man accused of grabbing a female hotel employee in the parking lot of the Inn at Rancho Santa Fe, the San Diego County Sheriff's Office said Wednesday.

Deputies responded shortly after noon Tuesday to the hotel in the 5900 block of Linea Del Cielo after the woman reported the battery. The woman pulled away from the man and ran inside the hotel to call for help, according to the sheriff's office.

Deputies searched the surrounding area with support from the sheriff's ASTREA helicopter, but were unable to find the man.

Detectives with the sheriff's North Coastal Station were working to identify the suspect. Authorities described him as a 60-year-old white man with white hair. He was last seen wearing a light blue polo shirt and khaki shorts.

Sheriff's officials said the incident appeared to be isolated and there was no information indicating an ongoing threat to the public.
