Golden closes section of Tucker Gulch Trail amid record bear activity (9news.com) — A key stretch of Golden's Tucker Gulch Trail between 7th and 1st streets is temporarily closed after a surge in bear activity, and there's no set reopening date yet. Police and wildlife officials urge residents to give bears plenty of space, stay alert on nearby routes, and remember that increased sightings are part of a record year for encounters statewide.

Golden woman creates a dating ad for her Tarantula—and finds a match (kosi101.com) — A Golden resident, Taylor Foley, turned to Reddit to find a mate for her restless Costa Rican zebra tarantula, Asmodeus, and actually connected with a local breeder. Asmodeus will soon visit Wild West Inverts for a carefully managed spider rendezvous that could result in hundreds of baby tarantulas, some of which Foley plans to keep while others go to shops and breeders.

Welcome Home (goldentoday.com) — Golden's own History Museum is inviting residents to explore a year-long exhibit honoring Colorado's Vietnam veterans, featuring uniforms, photos, portraits, and powerful personal stories. Visitors can also see Quilts of Valor and interpretive displays about the draft, conscientious objection, and homefront resistance, all just down on 10th Street.
