The organization works closely with the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders at Connecticut Children’s in Hartford.
Its mission includes funding pediatric cancer clinical trials and research, allowing children to receive emerging treatments locally rather than traveling elsewhere for care.
The organization also provides financial assistance to families dealing with expenses while a child undergoes cancer treatment.
The Sept. 19 fundraiser will include a one-hour open bar with beer and wine, a buffet dinner, and dessert. Guests will also be able to participate in a raffle, silent auction and wine pull.
Guest speakers are expected to include a pediatric cancer patient and Dr. Michael Isakoff, division head of Hematology and Oncology at Connecticut Children’s.
Organizers said all proceeds will directly benefit local pediatric cancer patients by helping fund access to "diverse, cutting-edge care close to home."
Guests are asked to wear dressy casual attire and are encouraged to add an optional touch of gold in recognition of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
The deadline to RSVP is Sept. 12.
