Avon Boy Scouts To Hold Can And Bottle Drive

AVON, CT — Avon residents can clear out their redeemable bottles and cans while helping local Boy Scouts raise money for outdoor adventures during a collection drive this weekend.

Avon Boy Scout Troop 274 will hold a can and bottle drive Saturday, Aug. 29, from 8 a.m. to noon at West Avon Congregational Church, 280 Country Club Road.

Residents can bring redeemable bottles and cans to the collection site, where Scouts will unload the containers from vehicles, sort them, and handle the recycling process.

Proceeds from the drive will help support Scouts participating in High Adventure trips, according to the event announcement.
