During this first phase of construction, the contractor will begin saw-cutting in preparation for the excavation of portions of the roadway and adjacent right-of-way, Greenwich Civil Engineer Ian Brown said.

As construction progresses, Brown said there will be periods when alternating one-way traffic will be necessary. Police officers will be on-site to assist with traffic control, and at the end of each workday, the roadway will be restored to a drivable condition.
