• Fontana Brings New Haven Lessons To Hamden (patch.com) — Hamden's new economic and community development director, Steve Fontana, outlines long-range plans to revitalize Dixwell and Whitney Avenues, reuse the vacant Leed Himmel plant, and guide projects like the High Meadows affordable housing proposal. He's drawing on lessons from New Haven to boost walkability, public art, and neighborhood amenities in areas like Whitneyville, Newhall/Highwood, and along the Farmington Canal trail.
   

• New Haven Transit Facility Improvements (ct.gov) — Hamden riders are in line to benefit from the Move New Haven Bus Rapid Transit system, which will link New Haven, Hamden, and West Haven to Union Station with faster, more reliable service. A series of major projects will upgrade Union Station, nearby parking and multimodal facilities, key intersections, and signal systems, aiming to improve safety, access, and overall transit experience for regional commuters.
   

• Week 2 Connecticut high school football top performers (Sept. 21) (nhregister.com) — A standout Week 2 performance came from Hamden's Joshua Johnson, who rushed for 99 yards and two touchdowns in a narrow 26-21 loss to Conard. The statewide roundup also notes Conard's Holden Smith and many other top Connecticut high school football players who delivered big games across the state.
