• Manchester Pet Mayor Tito To Host Fall Pet Adoption Fair Oct. 3 (patch.com) — Manchester pet lovers can look forward to a Fall Pet Adoption Fair on Saturday, Oct. 3, at Northwest Park, hosted by the town's first Pet Mayor, Tito. The event will feature rescue groups, adoptable animals, vendors, and family activities, while also collecting pet food and supplies to support local shelters and residents in need across Manchester and Connecticut.

• Former Gerich's Service Station site in Manchester could become new oil change facility (ctpost.com) — A long-vacant corner at Tolland Turnpike and Depot Street in Manchester could soon become a new quick-lube and emissions testing shop, replacing the former Gerich's Service Station. Developers have filed plans for a three-bay facility, and the town's PZC is tentatively set to hold a public hearing on the special exception and related approvals on September 21.

• South Windsor man charged with biting 2 juveniles (fox61.com) — A South Windsor man has been returned from Chicago to Connecticut and faces serious charges after police say he bit two juveniles in separate July incidents. He's being held on a substantial bond and is scheduled to appear in Manchester Superior Court, a reminder of an active local case moving through the area's justice system.
