Four local men were arrested, issued appearance tickets, and had a truck, trailer, and race car impounded, underscoring how out-of-state street racing can still bring serious consequences back home to Meriden.

Ransomware Attacks May Have Exposed Data of 12,600 in Connecticut (ctexaminer.com) — Meriden residents are among 2,325 people whose personal data may have been exposed in a ransomware attack that disrupted city systems for more than a month earlier this year. Officials say they rebuilt affected systems and reviewed data practices, while cybersecurity experts urge residents to monitor for breaches, change passwords, and use credit monitoring if offered.

Platt football fends off Amity rally with Justice Antunez's late-game heroics (greenwichtime.com) — Platt High's football team thrilled Meriden fans Thursday night at Falcon Field, surviving a late Amity rally thanks to a 52-yard onside kick return touchdown by Justice Antunez to seal a 28-12 win. Senior quarterback Austen Standish piled up passing and rushing yards as Platt moved to 2-0, capping a night that also included a ceremony honoring five late members of the program's football family.
   

4. New Haven assistant principal sexually assaulted student twice in his office, warrant says (ctpost.com) — A James Hillhouse High School assistant principal who lives in Meriden has been charged with second- and fourth-degree sexual assault after a student reported two incidents in his New Haven office in May. According to the warrant, staff alerted child protection authorities, surveillance footage confirmed the student's visits, DNA testing yielded mixed results, and he is free on bond pending an October court hearing.
