• Manresa updates traffic estimates; PZC to begin deliberations next month (nancyonnorwalk.com) — Plans for the new Manresa Wilds park on Manresa Island are moving forward in Norwalk, with planners detailing a reservation-only parking system they say would add just two cars per minute at peak times. After months of public testimony about traffic, environmental cleanup, and neighborhood impacts, the Planning and Zoning Commission will begin formal deliberations Oct. 14 on creating a special zoning district for the largely nonprofit, conservation-focused waterfront park.
   

• City, Norwalk Public Schools To Hold Joint Budget Public Hearing (patch.com) — Norwalk residents are being asked to weigh in on the city and school district's 2027-28 operating and capital budgets at a joint public hearing Tuesday at 6 p.m. in City Hall and on Zoom. City, Board of Education, and finance leaders will listen to community priorities before drafting spending plans that shape taxes, school funding, and local investments.
   

• Connecticut nor'easter live updates: Power outages span the state, high wind warning expands (stamfordadvocate.com) — Norwalk is already seeing tidal flooding and travel disruptions as a powerful nor'easter batters Connecticut, with police warning drivers to avoid water-covered roads and Metro-North's Danbury–South Norwalk train delayed by a downed tree. Strong winds, coastal flooding, scattered power outages, and some park and road closures are expected to continue through Sunday, so plan extra travel time, monitor outages, and stay off unsafe roads where possible.
