Ned Lamont and other top Connecticut officials at the Wilton Democratic Town Committee's annual barbecue on Sunday, Oct. 4, at WEPCO at St. Matthew's. The ticketed event will feature food and remarks on voting rights and other key issues, with local and statewide leaders scheduled to attend.

• Check your toy bin: 3 popular children's toy products recalled nationwide (mor-tv.com) — Parents in Wilton should check their toy bins after three children's products were recalled nationwide, including Melissa & Doug fire truck activity boards imported by the Wilton-based company. The recalls, which also cover busy boards sold on Amazon and squishy toys with water beads, cite choking and potential intestinal blockage risks, though only one minor injury has been reported so far.

• End zone interception in final seconds clinches No. 7 Berlin football's victory over Wilton (ctpost.com) — Wilton football fans saw a tough home loss as Berlin sealed a 13-6 win with a last-minute interception in Wilton's end zone.
