• Georgetown police report increase in calls, DUI arrests (coasttv.com) — Georgetown’s police department is handling more calls and significantly more DUI arrests this summer compared with the same period last year, a change leaders link to having more officers on patrol. Assaults, crashes, and fugitive apprehensions are also up, even as total year-to-date calls have dipped slightly. Officers and longtime residents say the town’s rapid growth is driving demand for more policing and a larger force. 
• Delaware participates in the Rural Health Transformation Program (hoyendelaware.com) — Two new school-based health centers are coming to Georgetown, including one at Georgetown Middle School, as part of a federal Rural Health Transformation grant. In total, four Sussex County middle schools will gain on-campus care, helping students access preventive, primary, and behavioral health services without leaving school. Officials say the move closes a long-standing gap between Sussex and New Castle counties.
