Manatee School for the Arts placed on lockdown after threat reported on social media (mysuncoast.com) — Manatee School for the Arts in Bradenton went into lockdown Tuesday after a student allegedly made a threatening social media comment, but the student was quickly located and taken into custody. School leaders credit students for reporting the threat and are urging Bradenton families to discuss online behavior, monitor official alerts, and keep roads clear during any future emergencies.
   

2. Man arrested after dispute led to double homicide in Bradenton: police (snntv.com) — Bradenton police have arrested 34-year-old Jakourtney Johnson in connection with a Sept. 22 shooting on 12th Avenue E that left two people, Rosario and Stubbs, dead. Investigators say witnesses saw Johnson fire multiple shots during an ongoing dispute, and he now faces two counts of second-degree murder with a firearm while denying involvement in the killings.
   

3. Dengue Cases Climbing in Florida: What Manatee and Sarasota Residents Need to Know – WENG 98.1FM, 107.5 FM & 1530 AM (wengradio.com) — Mosquito control crews are flying helicopter spraying missions over urban Bradenton and Palmetto every two weeks to stay ahead of dengue and other mosquito-borne diseases, even though Manatee County has no local dengue cases yet.
