Pointe Grand Opens 288 Apartments in South Lakeland (lkldnow.com) — Lakeland residents have 288 new "attainable luxury" apartments at Pointe Grand on Patriot Drive, approved by city commissioners after traffic and parking concerns were addressed. The complex targets middle-income renters with uniform two-bedroom units, extensive amenities, and rents averaging about $1,939 a month, reflecting both the city's tight rental market and efforts to expand housing options on the south side.

Lakeland man dies after crashing motorcycle on Kathleen Road (miramarflnews.com) — A 44-year-old Lakeland man died after crashing his motorcycle on Kathleen Road near 1st Street Northwest on the afternoon of Sept. 23. Polk County deputies say he was speeding northbound when he failed to negotiate a curve and crashed, closing Kathleen Road for about two hours while investigators worked the scene.
   

5. Polk County IT manager found dead in park during voyeurism probe: PCSO (fox13news.com) — A 60-year-old Lakeland man, an IT manager in Bartow, was found dead in Colt Creek State Park as deputies investigated a hidden camera discovered in a women's restroom at a Polk County Tax Collector IT building. Authorities say a suicide note was found in his car, and investigators believe he recorded several female coworkers without their knowledge.
