The plan adds three positions, boosts capital and infrastructure spending, and followed some tense debate before commissioners ultimately voted unanimously.

Volusia deputy rescues 72-year-old man after wheelchair falls into New Smyrna Beach marina (fox35orlando.com) — Emergency crews in New Smyrna Beach pulled a 72-year-old man from dark marina water after he fell from his wheelchair and was found clinging to a pipe. A Volusia County sheriff's sergeant jumped in with a rescue buoy, guided him to a staircase, and local paramedics say he's now expected to recover.
