• SPURS OF THE MOMENT — Cowboys and new rodeo queens all part of 157th Silver Spurs Rodeo (aroundosceola.com) — A Newberry cowboy, Randall Carlisle, took first place in tie-down roping at the 157th Silver Spurs Rodeo, one of the biggest events in Eastern rodeo. The Osceola County showcase drew thousands of fans, crowned new rodeo queens, awarded nearly $30,000 in prize money, and donated $20,000 to local charities supporting seniors and adults with disabilities.
