Sarasota County to cut ribbon on $100M administration building (businessobserverfl.com) — Sarasota County is opening its new $100.15 million Administration Center off Fruitville Road near I‑75, with a ribbon-cutting and the first commission meeting on Tuesday. The larger, more resilient facility replaces the former Ringling Boulevard building and now houses key offices including the commission chambers, clerk, attorney, libraries and financial management. Funding came from general revenues, the old building's sale, surtax dollars and impact fees.
   

2. Sarasota County School Board set for changes following primary election (baynews9.com) — Sarasota County's school board will look different after last week's primary, with former teachers Beth Mayberry and Megan Tennimon winning seats outright and another race headed to November. Local union leaders say voters signaled a desire to refocus on students as the board confronts funding pressures, inflation, and ongoing debates over the district's direction.
   

3. Seeing someone experiencing homelessness in Sarasota? Here's how the city says you can help (mysuncoast.com) — If you see someone experiencing homelessness in Sarasota, the city wants you to call its Homeless Outreach Team or case managers so they can connect that person with services, not just hand over cash or food. Sarasota's coordinated effort between the city and police includes case management, shelter beds at The Salvation Army, housing vouchers and even reunification travel through Homeward Bound. Residents are urged to donate or volunteer with local providers and use the listed phone numbers to report people who may need help.
   

4. Great Scallop Search turns up more than double last year's numbers (yourobserver.com) — Volunteers fanned out across Sarasota Bay for this year's Great Scallop Search, finding 50 live scallops—more than double last year's count and a positive sign for local water quality. About 95 residents, students, and Sarasota Bay Watch staff snorkeled from the Sarasota Sailing Squadron, logging marine life and helping guide future conservation while learning more about their own backyard ecosystem.
